Shoreline Fishing

Speckled trout are normally going to be found in less than 6 foot of water. This means that proving the water temperature is right, around 75 degrees, then your shorline fishing experience will be good. As I mentioned earlier once the water heats up around 85 and above your search will take you deeper. If you are an angler that enjoys pier fishing, surf fishing or wade fishing try these tips. Keep in mind that we are now required to posse a Florida state shoreline fishing license to fish from the shore. FWC Some trout are attracted to the pilings of the pier and are also going to be in the shallow surf areas nearby.

If you are planning on fishing from the shore or wade fishing, try casting your lures and baits to the areas that are called troughs that run parallel with the beach during low tides. You can free line your bait and just be ready for the bite. (Free-lining is simply not attaching a popping cork and allowing your bait to swim around or flow freely and travel with the current).

Speckled trout along the surf area can be found also near areas with rocks, pilings, rubble and steep washout areas. Fishing on either side of these but allow your bait to flow with the current to look more like the real thing. Always be ready to set the hook, and remember just keep tension on the fish as you land your fish. You do not have to pull his spots off.
